I couldn't help but capture the first signs of springtime in my yard. :)

Flash
My application requires examples of use of "on camera" flash, so here they are!
There is just so much love in this photo. :)
Toby being Toby
Too much fun! The chocolate cake smear on the cheek says it all :)
My niece, Ally, enjoying playing the plastic piano
Shot of my niece, Rachel, in the midst of Christmas present opening (I just have the cutest nieces!)

"Little moments can have a feeling and a TEXTURE that is very real." ~Ralph Fiennes
Experimenting with adding "texture" to photos...
Original:
With "texture"
Texture by Paul Phung found at http://www.flickr.com/photos/rephotography/2526565056/
Original "straight out of the camera"
The "antique" look
Texture found at http://www.flickr.com/photos/spiritual_marketplace/3173902764/
Original "straight out of the camera"
Texturized ;)
I obviously didn't take this photo (since I'm in it) but thought the editing came out ok.

Of course, now I need to "develop my eye" for when to apply it and to which photos. Yet, I'm excited about this new (to me) technique! I'm having fun finding my own "textures" (many you can get off flickr as noted above). The ones that aren't noted, I created.
"I search for the realness, the real feeling of a subject, all the texture around it... I always want to see the third dimension of something... I want to come alive with the object."
